INTEREST LIST - not yet a class

Caricature Carving with Terry Moss

We want to make sure there is enough interest before scheduling the next class, which requires five minimum.  Signing up for the interest list does not commit you, but does mean you will have first opportunity to sign up.

Terry Moss is a skilled caricature carver, and happens to be the president of the Capitol WoodCarvers Club in Salem. In this weekend workshop we will probably carve the Santa figure,; and on your own or in future classes, you can carve the other figures shown.

The class is intended for beginner and intermediate carvers.  The figure is carved out of 2x2x12 Basswood which will be roughed out ahead of time so students can concentrate on the essential carving.  The exact figure to be carved depends on the timing for the class.

The class will tentatively be taught at Kelley Stadelman's studio in North Plains.

COST - $175.

PREREQUISITES - Beginner or intermediate level carver or above with some experience using a carving knife.

FOOD -  Snacks and beverages provided.

TOOLS - You will need to provide your own tools, but they are modest - detail knife, small V tool, micro gouge.  Some might be available to loan.

LIABILITY WAIVER - Before the class you will need to sign a typical form to waive liability for Kelley and the Oregon Carvers Guild.

CARVING SAFETY - You must read the relevant parts of our draft carving safety manual and be prepared to follow those practices.

COVID - What, me worry?  Yes, we will, and you should plan on standard protocols of staying home if sick, living with some who is, recently exposed, etc.

CANCELLATION - Full refund if cancelled within 14 days of the class start. Half refund if cancelled 7 to 14 days of the start, and no refund if cancelled within 7 days, UNLESS we can find a substitute attendee.
