Annual Meeting plus Regular Monthly Program

The Annual Meeting will take about ten minutes to elect board members and hear a debrief on the Gathering of the Guilds, followed by the regular monthly program.  We’ve learned a lot while making comfort birds and related animals for the Gathering of the Guilds.  The main lesson is that there are many ways to make them.  This program will review options for carving by hand or with power, or with both.  We’ll review finishing options (oil, film finishes, buffing), look at a variety of birds and animals, talk about woods, and learn firsthand from the experiences of other clubs, and from the son (Don Foust) of the originator of the idea, his father, Frank Foust.  These lessons should translate to making a variety of small carved things, not just those in the “comfort” category.

Please register so we can notify you of any changes.
