Marty Leenhouts has combined his chip carving hobby and his passion for teaching in a successful second career as owner/operator of My Chip Carving.

He is a professionally trained teacher and owner of My Chip Carving and EZ Carving, with over 30 years of teaching and carving experience. With thousands of members worldwide, Marty's video lessons have been viewed over 3 million times in more than150 countries. He is also the author of "Chip Carving Essentials, A Step-by-Step Guide to Successful Chip Carving."  On his way to his business success he has become one of the nation's premier carvers.

He'll discuss the art of chip carving, demonstrate how to carve, talk about the knives he uses and the patterns he has available.

Lessons learned from chip carving can also be used in other forms of the craft, especially in areas where a carver is looking to create fine detail. It's also a way to dress up borders on relief carvings, create Christmas ornaments or turn a plain box into a stunning work of art.

And it is the most affordable and portable form of carving.
